Ashurst Wood Village Council is the local council covering the civil parish of Ashurst Wood, which lies within the district of Mid Sussex and the County of West Sussex. It was established as Ashurst Wood Parish Council in April 2000, becoming Ashurst Wood Village Council on the 1st January 2016.

The Council serves a community of approximately 1900 residents. It is made up of nine Councillors who are elected for a term of four years. Councillors serve until the next election, which will be in May 2027. Councillors are not paid for their term in office, but receive reimbursement of some expenses.The Council works to protect and improve the village environment and facilities for the benefit of the community.

The Council's office is next to the Village Centre in Maypole Road. It is open Monday to Thursday, 9.00-1.00pm.
